, wird zum neuen Präsidenten des PRIX EUROPA gewählt. Die  Festival-Allianz umfaßt nun 19 Organisationen, da auch Piotr Gawel, Vize-Präsident von Telewizja Polska, den Beitritt des Polnischen Fernsehens erklärt hat.

Das Konzert der rumänischen Band Mahala Rai Banda zur Eröffnung des Festivals wird europaweit von 23 Rundfunkstationen übertragen. In einer gemeinsamen Aktion widmen 83 Radiostationen aus 34 Ländern Europas ihre Sendungen am 16. Oktober dem zweiten Radio Day of European Cultures.

Bei Wein würde man von einem ausgezeichneten Jahrgang 2005 sprechen“. Dieser Kommentar eines Festivalbesuchers wirft ein Licht auf  das Rekordjahr für den PRIX EUROPA: über 1000 Teilnehmer besuchen das Festival; und nach einer harten Vorauswahl kämpfen 276 nominierte Programme um einen der 14 Preise.

Golden Goal Konferenz


Zwei neue Preise werden vergeben: der PRIX EUROPA GOLDEN GOAL für das Beste Europäische Fernsehprogramm über Fußball und der PRIX GENÈVE-EUROPE für das Beste Fiction Drehbuch eines Nachwuchsautoren, gestiftet von der  Europäischen Allianz für Fernsehen und Kultur, EATC.

Das Festival findet ein angemessenes Finale im ehrwürdigen „Alten Telegrafensaal“ der Deutschen Telekom. Die Preisübergeber sind: Terry Davis, Generalsekretär des Europarates, Doris Pack, Europäisches Parlament, Raina Konstantinova und David Wood, EBU, Prof. Dr. Hansjürgen Rosenbauer, Medienrat Berlin-Brandenburg.
