Berlin, 25 September
Next step: Berlin, Cultural Capital in 1988, and its public broadcaster Sender Freies Berlin, organiser of the international radio and tv festival PRIX FUTURA BERLIN. Already in its 2nd edition the PRIX EUROPA opened up to the whole of the continent to national and regional tv stations and to documentaries and fiction “Made in Europe“. One of the 4 awards went to a Danish documentary that tackled an issue that would in the years to come turn out as an essential European issue: how do we live together in multi ethnic societies? The European Parliament, the European Commision, the Land of Berlin and Sender Freies Berlin joined the PRIX EUROPA Alliance and 52 European TV Stations sent their programmes to compete.
