Berlin, 3 November
PRIX EUROPA returns to the re-united capital of Germany. The prize-giving is Unter den Linden. One of the winners is from the former GDR - "To Istanbul as fast as possible“ is Andreas Dresen’s first feature film.
Sender Freies Berlin has been organising the competition since 1988. Always keeping in mind, that European quality tv programmes should travel. In order to help them across borders the Yearbook is published with the best television “Made in Europe“. And it works! A PRIX EUROPA winning film easily sells to over 14 countries. Television without frontiers – this was the original idea! And the major topic the 112 entries to the competition dealt with: “Fortress Europe“.
