JURY CITATION
"A warm and funny coming of age story focuses on a contemporary tale of growing up without a father. Unique script in colourful direction delivers a story with humour, tenderness and some heavy equipment."
Twelve-year-old Luuk Bos has always thought that his father was the World's Strongest Man. His mother Dorien, who has raised him by herself, used to tell him the most wonderful stories about that. During a visit to a local Strongest Man competition Luuk meets René Doornbos, one of the competitors. Luuk suspects that René is his father. When, one day, he sees old pictures showing that René used to have red hair, just like Luuk, Luuk decides that that proves it: René Doornbos is his father. When Dorien finds out that Luuk thinks he has found his father, she confesses to the truth: Luuk was conceived in a tube.
