Welcome! Sveriges Radio and Sveriges Television join PRIX EUROPA
Proud to present: Two Swedish broadcasters commit themselves to the European Broadcasting Festival.
PRIX EUROPA is happy to announce that beginning from 2012 Sveriges Radio and Sveriges Television will be members of our Alliance of now 26 European partner organizations.
After winning rows of PRIX EUROPA Awards in the past years the two Swedish power houses of radio and television respectively have now joined the ranks of our partners.
Festival Director Susanne Hoffmann greeted the new members: "We get more and more requests by broadcasters who want to be a part of PRIX EUROPA. This solidarity among European programme makers in the middle of what is being called a European crisis makes us stronger and testifies to the validity of our concept." The number of broadcasters in the PRIX EUROPA Alliance has now risen to 18.
"As one of Europe's strongest public service radio company, Swedish Radio naturally wants to be part of the PRIX EUROPA Alliance and support high quality radio in a rapidly changing media environment. Quality that stems from reliability and modernity is the basis of Swedish Radio's activities. That is in line with the idea behind PRIX EUROPA, an organization whose activities can strengthen public service radio in Sweden", said Cilla Benkö, Deputy Director General of Sveriges Radio.
Peter Gustafsson, Commissioning Editor at Sveriges Television commented: "PRIX EUROPA has for a long time been important to serious European broadcasters when it comes to high profiled drama and documentary work. More recently also in its recognition of new media platforms and in the search for forms of communication that attract audiences not traditionally faithful to public service stations. This is why we have decided to be an even more active partner and supporter in Berlin."
Välkommen and welcome on board the European Broadcasting Festival!
