Synopsis
How would you react if one day, all of a sudden, you were told you belonged to the opposite sex? That's what happened to Nourredine, the hero or heroine of this story. One morning Nourredine, who had always thought he was a boy, discovers that his mum, Fatima, has been lying to him for the past 12 years. In reality, he is a girl.
Citation by the Jury
"Ambitious in its use of tone, drawing on both drama and comedy, the film shows the clear potential of its author.
This film tackles the situation of first and second generation Algerian families in France in a fresh and original way, using a high concept story – a pubescent girl brought up as a boy – to illustrate the anomalies of everyday life in general and growing up in particular."
